Hi all at HQ,
I was hoping someone maybe able to help me with this setup!
I have built a Windows Home Server over the weekend and installed all my movies, music ect to the shared folders. I have setup a file share to my xbox using ccxgui and all is working as it should.
I have installed lightsout on the WHS machine as there are 5 PC's in the house that turn on WHS from shutdown using the lightsout client. The problem I have is that the old xbox is not recognised as a client and the lightsout program shuts down WHS after 10 minutes. This problem can be solved by extending the shut down time from the lightsout addin but I would like WHS to shut down 10 minutes after all client connectivity is absent.
O.K so what am I getting at!
I would like to have a .py script (maybe) that would wake WHS as soon as the xbox is powered on. From here I need to be able to keep WHS alive without it thinking that no clients are connected.
Is it possible to send packets (ping) to WHS to keep it alive so it thinks the xbox is a client or is there any way to add the old xbox as a client to WHS?
If all else fails I'll just have to fire up a pc when using the xbox.

i dont think so, u might have to use the debug bios on the xbox to recoginze it as a client or put linux on it, i really dont know
I read through heaps of forums even some on We Got Served.
The We Got Served link here has pretty much provided the answer I'm looking for, it is the same issue.
I found the one at xbmc earlier thats what help me consider a .py script.
Sounds like something maybe in the pipeline for lightsout!
Thanks Again _________________ xbox v1.2
