So. I recently softmodded my Xbox (a couple days ago), but last night I got into a little problem.
First of all, being a newb to this stuff, after installing my softmod, I decided to format all of my drives (which I read I should do). But, I conveniently didn't read the part that I shouldn't format the drives that have my dashboard and other integral files on it (/E, /C). So, I formatted every drive on the list. I realized this was a bad idea when I went over to my save game manager and found they were all gone. I figured it was probably just a fluke, and then tried again. But, unsurprisingly, they remained gone. Panicking, I tried to switch to my MS dash to check and see if my saves were showing up there in the memory section, and then I got an error screen. Restarted my Xbox, and lo and behold, error 22. So, I read up on a way to fix it, and read that AID would be my best bet since the softmod is still installed. I downloaded 4.50, burned it to a disc, and it loaded fine.
Relieved that my Xbox wasn't completely ****ed, I proceeded to download several emulators, ROMs, and applications before attempting to install XBMC. for some reason, he XBMC dash didn't work. Now, it beign late, and me being incredibly tired and not thinking logically, I saw "Uninstall Softmod" on the AID list. I thought, "Hey, maybe I should uninstall the softmod and reinstall it, THEN get XBMC.
It told me I needed to have a MS dash backup to use it, or it didn't work. Here's when the real trouble starts. I had made a backup of the dash when I first installed the softmod, but stupidly forgot that I had formatted my /E drive and it was gone. So, I proceeded with the uninstall, and it uninstalled without a hitch (unfortunately). I then restarted my Xbox, and got an error screen. I suddenly realized what could have happened to my Xbox and started to panic. I attempted to run the AID disc, but sadly, the softmod was gone and now I can't run the disc. Since I didn't have a backup of the MSdash, now my Xbox is just an empty shell of components that shows an error screen when I turn it on.
Now to my question: Is there any way to raise my Xbox from its dismal state? If so, How? If not, is my Xbox completely dead?

TL;DR: Uninstalled softmod without MSdash backup, now Xbox is completely dead, how do I fix it.
Thanks in advance, love your guys software!

Hello,

Can your xbox boot original games ?
try to connect to `live` with a live enabled game but without your network cable attached.

Did you, by any chance back up your Eeprom to your PC ?
If so, fix your xbox with xbhdm.

If you have no success with the above, you need an eeprom reader or a modchip to correct your errors.

Post back if you`re a little bit stuck or need any further info.

Wow, that was a fast reply.

As far as I know, I can't run Xbox games, I'll go try running a live enabled game right now.

EDIT: OK, I just ran the first Live! enabled game I saw, which was Amped 2. it ran fine.
Also, no eeprom on my computer, I didn't back anything up, being the noob that I am.

Hi,
You can run an original game ?
Im surprised.

Ok, try to connect to live - without your network cable attached, you dont want to connect to live, you want the game to try to connect, this will `hopefully` update your dashboard.

Alright, so, I connected to Xbox Live! on Burnout: Revenge, a game that I knew had the latest version of the dashboard, and then went to create new account. When it attempted to take me to the Xbox dashboard, just got this screen:

Ok, your on the right track, try again with any live enabled games you have, in theory what your doing should fix it ... That error 13 is a dashboard error and loading up live enabled games should update your dash and solve your problem.

If i was in your situation id try every game i had, you cant do any more damage so try every one, hopefully one of them will sort it, on those discs theres an `update.xbe` file, the latest/newest games you have should sort it but id try every one untill you get some MS dash appearing.

Well I've tried at least 7 or 8 Live! enabled games so far to no avail. Know of any games that are proven to update the dash?
Also, if it helps, before I got the error 13, I was getting error 14, and it just randomly transitioned to error 13. Is this bad?

EDIT: this just in: with the latest game I tried, I got a new error code altogether: 20.

EDIT EDIT: for the last few games I've tried, whenever I try and make a new account, it restarts the game.

Ok, Nothings `Bad` those errors 13,14,20 are just dashboards failing to load, did you try to use a `shortcut` to load XBMC ? ....... Anyway, I think i used a game called `Stolen` to recover from a bad dash incident (i think) - Id keep on trying to load `live` enabled games, even if you do the same one again and again, the solution is not far away .... Unfortunately i have to go now, hopefully one of the other members can pick up where i left off, ill be back on tomorrow if you need anymore help ..... If you give up for the time being dont unplug your console (you can switch it off, but dont pull the plug from the mains or you`ll have a different set of error codes).

Anyway keep trying, ill check this post tomorrow.

Alright, thanks for helping me get this far.
I probably have to get off soon anyway.
For anyone else who's here to help me, do you know why my Xbox keeps restarting the game I have in the disc drive when I try and create a new gamertag?

Any Luck ?
Ive had a bit of a re-think, possibly with you formatting E:/ theres no Udata & Tdata folders and this is causing your game to reboot, i think you`re running out of options .... Maybe an eeprom reader or a modchip are the only things that`ll get you up and running. Crying or Very sad
