What do I do guys?? My games are loading up fine but I get this screen if theres no game in the disc tray. I cant get to ms dash or anything. Its not giving me one of the error numbers though, its just a green screen I do have a backup of my eeprom on the computer if that will help. Do I have to rebuild my hdd or can I do something with the eeprom backup?? And how would I go about making a disc or using this eeprom backup?? Please let me know. I dont know wanna kill another xbox. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Freestile

Have you tried booting the AID disk in it?

Damn fam. I'm not even getting that going. Flashing light with the green screen but no error numbers. Dont know what it could be. I dont know what else to do really. I tried hotswapping but for some reason I couldnt get that to work. Damn this sucks. Theres a guy that can fix that stuff here so maybe he can get me going for a good price. This is the website of the company that can do repairs http://cosprings.craigslist.org/ele/1102957148.html. If not I'll just have to look more into it. Maybe I can have someone do it for me. I dont wanna pay an arm and a leg though. I got this one for $40 and it came with a linksys wirless g adapter, 1xbox xcontroller, 4 games and all the hookups. If I can find someone who could fix it for $10-$20 bucks around here that would be great. I just dont wanna shell out any more money. I caught a bid on ebay last night and won another just the console, for a fairly good price so that will keep good. I figure if this ones still fixable might as well give it a shot. I dont think its a bad error cause I'm not getting any error numbers, just the green screen, but I'm not sure whats up. I messed with the option repair harddrive/format in aid. I should read before I do things. I was trying to do this cuase I figured it would prepare the harddrive and than I could have installed xbmc from there as my main softmod/dash. After that I removed the softmod with the SID installer through aid and now I get that screen. So I dont know whats up. I dont know what the eeproms gonna do for me in this situation. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to do a hotswap, if I can even get that going correct?? Damn I just got this box the other day. I paniced so got another one coming in , but damn 2 xboxes in about a month. I need to be careful. I think this one could possibly get going though. The other one the power supply blew out and it already had like error 21 or something so I'll worry about that one later. If I can get this one going than that will be great. Let me know what you think.

IF aid boots still do a full softmod one click install and if it wont boot get a copy of xboxHDM and use it with your PC and eeprom backup- to rebuild the HDD.

If you cant understand the xboxHDM read me file let me know and i will link you to a guide to help you get it going.

Do as Wes suggests and use xbhdm to rebuild the harddrive.

If its a v1.0 console (check the motherboard and see if theres a daughter board that the controller ports plug into) with kernel 3944 it wont show any error code.

Damn. I cant believe how much bad luck I been having with these things. The first one the power supply blew and it had some sort of error. It also somehow blew the a/v cable that was attached to it and my vhs rca inputs. I got another tv with rcas in the front so I dont have to worry about the vhs. On the second one I did the whole hot swap thing and could not get it going. Now for some reason my computer wont even recognize its own dvd/cd drive. Under Device Manager it doesnt show. It has power and opens and closes and spins like it wants to read the disc but no deal. I tried everything I could on the internet, but none of that worked. It looks like the prongs might be bent a bit so Hopefully I can straighten those out and try to see if it will work. I really dont know what to do. I have another xbox coming to me in the mail in a few days, but on this one I'm just gonna be content with having the older unleashx as the main dash and xbmc in the applications. I'd like to get this other one fixed if I could. Theres some guy around here thats supposed to be good with those, but I guess he only knows 360 and not too much regular xbox. Theres another guy that is supposed to be good with this too. I'm gonna see if he can maybe reinstall my dash or do a hotswap or something. I really dont wanna pay that much dough since I could probably do it, but I think I'm done trying to mess with it anymore. I think like $15-$20 is good. I mean all he really has to do is hotswap it and reinstall my dash and I'll be good from there. He dont even have to mod it or anything. If he cant do it and one of you guys wanted to do it than maybe be we can work something out. I would even be down to just give the other xbox away since it needs a power supply and probably a hotswap anyway, but at least it could be used for parts or one of you guys could fix it(if you wanted to of course) and have another xbox. To take a little off the fee you know. Other than that I'm just waiting on my other box here soon. Thanks for all the help guys, but I'm just gonna wait till I get this other one and see if I can talk to this guy here and see what he can do. If he cant do anything I might hit someone up around here to see whats good.

Yay guys I did it. I hotswapped both my xboxs and was up and running in no time. Although for some reason I could not get xboxhdm to work at all. It kept giving me erros and all sorts of stuff. Wouldnt read my drive. Drive Frozen, fatx92 blah blah something error. I ended up stumpling across this tutorial http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/xbox-support/70629-forrestmasters-guide-fixing-errors-13-14-16-20-21-a.html and this one
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/xbox-softmod/6646-hot-swap-xbox-w-windows-prog-tut.html and It was all good from there. I wanna thank wes and everybody for answering my questions and trying to help me out. I'm sure you'll see me around here every now and then as I still got tons more questions to ask. Wrd.
