I got a V1.1 xbox for $15 back about 5 months ago and it just sat there. So last weekend I decided to softmod it. Using SID 5.0 and mechassult. Installed a standard single boot install, no eeprom + virtual c, etc. Softmod went fine but now it hangs on boot up. It gets to the xbox logo and mircosoft comes up then just freeze.
My friends 1.6 I modded a few years back did this when I tried to install a duel boot on it, so I switched to a single boot and it fixed it. So I don't know what to try now. _________________

Had the same problem on a V1.0, deleted the old linux and loader files etc. including the other saves I had on game, reloaded the files from the mem card (I thought it was 5.1 but anyway) and all was fixed.

I've experienced that if you have more than one gamesave of MA the softmod will hang. I restored the m$dash and started fresh. I deleted all the MA gamesaves and reloaded the SID gamesave and the exploit gamesave.

Yeah, been real busy at work. The economy slow down had given me time to jump back in the forums. I've been lurking mostly. (clicking on links and digging). I figure you have a good handle on things anyway
Cheers,
