So i installed my Xectuer 2.6 and plugged everything back in. I power it up and it boots, shuts off, boots, shuts off, then boots again only to give me flashing red and green lights and nothing on the screen. Any ideas? Oh and if i shut off the mod chip it works fine...

Welcome to the HQ bro! I hope you enjoy the sites and everything we have to offer here. Any questions at all, feel free to ask.
This could mean many different things. Anything from a fired mobo to a loose connection. Usually you will get this with a failed mod attempt or broken traces on the mobo. But seeing as how it works when the chip is disabled, I don't think your mobo is fried which is really good. What version xbox do you have? Also, did your modchip come with a 'Read Me' file? If so, check it to see what the manual says about this problem. _________________

Nine times out of ten the error is from the xbox not seeing the BIOS, check your Do wire connection.
If you used a wireless install you can get the Do wire in place to a way it works then put a drop of hot glue on it since the wireless install tends to work loose from even a slight bump.

Thanks for the welcoming invite Well my xbox version is a 1.4 or 1.5 not exactly sure. I forgot. I checked to see if there was a readme with my modchip but there wasnt. I checked the solder connections over and over. I don't see any problems. Im almost a hundred percent sure I installed everything right. I guess one thing to mention is I havent flashed my bios yet, so that might be it? I gues I dont know...

So i tried flashing my Bios with a CD. i didnt work...Everything i want to put in the CD i have to turn my mod chip off because it wont eject with it on. Then whenever I try one (of my many) boot disks it does the same thing. Nothing comes up on the screen.

It wont boot the disk with the chip off and it wont work if the chip has a bad connection.

Alright here is my question now...Without a disk in the xbox, modchip on, modchip not being flashed, and nothing being done to the xbox except the modchip being installed: should i see anything on the screen or is it normal for the xbox to not boot?

If you installed the chip correctly you should see a flash bios screen. _________________
