I just tried that and it doesn't appear. Tried to put the jumper in all the slots. My pc boots from a sata drive, could that be a problem?
I can see it in Device Manager as ST310014A. Tried to install windows on it to format it that way but it said it couldn't read it. Are there any dos programs that could format it? Or maybbe partition magic or something? _________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

II just ran atawap on all the HDDs and got them to run but you might want to try a Linux boot disk to format the drive.

there's a linux boot disc program called G-Parted Partiton Manager. u burn it to a disc and boot off it, and u can format partically any partiton. When u formatt it make sure its either NTFS or Fat32, so windows can regonize it. _________________ http://firestream.net/h4sigs/gen/BlAcKk%20MaGiiK_130515060912.jpg

5 gigs will be plenty. I am in the process (have been for quite a while) of building an arcade cabinet. As to wether i ever complete this project is another question.
Anyway, i have a pc, a 22" crt monitor, an Alpine v12 car amp, 4 car speakers (2 3x9's and a pair of components), a psu for the amp, arcade controls (1 & 2 up buttons, 2 joysticks with 6 buttons each) and no time to do it.
All i need is a hard drive and a xbox hard drive will be fine for the job.
How do i use atapwd? Do i need to create a dos bootdisk with atapwd on it?
I found atapwd on this site after my previous post. _________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

yea, u'll need a floppy disk and hopefully ur computer has a floppy driver. format the floppy and make it a boot disc, copy atapwd to the floopy disc and boot off the disc. if u dont have a floppy drive on ur computer u can buy an external floppy drive for connects to usb or u can make a flash drive a bootable floppy disc emulation. _________________ http://firestream.net/h4sigs/gen/BlAcKk%20MaGiiK_130515060912.jpg
