Hi all, I have already soft modded one of my xboxs and tried to do my second yesterday. I did everything I did before but now when I turn it on it gives me an error 21. I went to soft mod again and it now doesnt detect the hard drive. I am thinking that I fried it and might just go buy a modchip as its only going to get a hard drive upgrade anyways.

Most error 21s are fixable with the live disk MS dash update.

i tried an original game thing and it came up with error 7 HD timed out. I cant get the AID disc to load. I dont know what the live disc update is? When I try to softmod again with xboxHDM 1.9 it says that the drive isnt detectable. I also ordered a xecuter 3 last night so I guess worst case Ill use that. I would like to fix it before hand just to learn a little more.

Ok got it to work. I messed up and didnt install ndure on my cd originally. I did that and 15 min later booted up to unleased which was cool. Soon I hope to get the modchip in the mail i ordered a Xecuter 3 CE solderless will there be any problems installing it after the softmod or do i have to go back to factory cause i dont know how to do that.
side note I ended up doing another one tonight as well and the thing gets stuck on the splash screen when it boots.... doesnt do anything.

X-3 chip will work no matter what you do to that HDD as for your soft mods are you using SID5 and if not ware did you get the ndure?

im using the downloads from instructables.com I dont know if that is SID or not Im pretty sure its krazy's installer.
So even though i softmodded the one and its working I can use the chip on it no problems. So that begs the question can I reflash the xbox thats freezing with chip. I thought I read somewhere that i could

i have evolution x on my xbox on top of my orginal MS dash, and when i boot into evolutiion x, it gives me, the IP add. but i can't ftp into it, i'm using flashfxp, doing a quick connect, and it keeps saying connection timed out, i enter the username and password correctly, y am i getting rejected.

did you softmod? I have a lot better luck with smartftp flashxp times out on me all the time
