I've got a strange question for someone... is it possible to rename my emulators so that they show up in my emulator list named for the game system that they emulate? For example, can I rename xSnes9x to "Super Nintendo"? I have 7 emulators with roms loaded that all work just fine (thanks to AID 4.21 and xbox-hq!!), but my kids never know which emulator plays which system. The goal would be to have my emulator list simply read "Atari", "Nintendo", "Sega Genesis", etc...

Thanks for any help or suggestions! By the way I've modded 2 for me and 3 others for friends, what fun! (Except for the V1.6b... that one was NOT fun...)

Well the emu are located in the folder you put them in like snex or what ever folder name try just renameing that folder to what you want it to be.

Example (E)/programs/snex just name the snex folder to what you want and I think that will fix what your wanting.

renaming the folder want make any difference.
what you have to do is rename the default.xbe file in the emulator folder.if you have unleashx as one of your dashboards then go into it and use the file explorer to find the emu and open up the emu and go to the default.xbe.then hit start and scroll down you will see an option "RENAME.XBE" push A on that option and a virtual keyboard pops up and away you go.

Good call xcalibur, your forth post and its a big play call from the side lines.

Nice Very Happy

(just incase your already running XBMC, it will allow the renaming of XBE files with out using the file manager.)

its in the thread "new emus for xbox",theres a download link there for you to try.one thing though make screenshots of the games your running and put them in the screenshots folder, then when you put on the emuthe screenshot is blown 3/4 across the screen.
options wise well a lot of stuff but this emu is all about ease of use and accessibility, basically theres stuff like sort by genre with all new catagouries added ,also a favourites option and the most important thing is every game has been keymapped so it feels a lot better to use.
example ikari warriors remember in the arcade you had an 8way joystick that you could spin your soldier around 360 degrees and have him facing a certain direction and still move up,down, left and right.well this has been fixed so that left trigger spins him one way and right trigger the other way.this is also the same for forgotten worlds.
there is a lot of features you can try,any questions just ask.
