Hey all,
I was just wondering if any one knew if it was possiblte to put a 200gig HDD into an xbox. I know its possible to put 120's in there but what about 200's.
Thanks

I have a 200G Maxtor in mine. As long as you have a bios that supports HDs larger than 137G you will be fine. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

I have installed about six 300GB HD's, but most of my customers are going with 250GB's. I haven't found one lockable 300GB yet...well, at least not off of newegg.com for less than 250.00

Just download a bios that is already capable of handling the larger HD's.. There's no sense in you learning how to manipulate a bios right now. There are enough out there that will already do what you need.
Lockable means the HD has security features which makes it able to lock and unlock.
The MS bios checks to see if the HD is locked. If the HD isn't locked you will get an error and your xbox won't boot properly. MS locks their HD's so people can't just remove the HD, hook it up to a PC and extract the data.
Not all HD's are lockable...although most are. Even if you put a HD on your xbox that isn't lockable, you would still be able to play when the mod chip is enabled. However, if you ever booted your machine with the mod chip disabled you would get the error. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
