if i take my 160gb hard drive and unlock it, and get the eeprom from another mobo i could lock it to that and it will just work right? would i lose data? im thinking one of two things will happen either (A) i unlock then lock and softmod boots straight away or (B) ill get the green ms dashboard and have to reinstall the softmod, but as long as i dont touch the partioning all my game saves and pictures and stuff will be cool? right? ill probably back up anyways before but just wondering if it will just lock and work without too much hassle

Yeah that should work just fine.
JUst as long as you got the eeprom files moved over.

change of plan duder, i needs me a mod chip which can handle dual bios/vga bios and no dvd drive thingy option, for a 1.6v xbox, as i have a softmod will i have any difficulties making the switch? and what would u reccomend to someone on a budget, i would also like to get one of those sweet looking lcds as well, i was reading on the modchip section xenium ice would do the job, but if there is a proper cheap white trash option im all for it

If you could get the extra $20 id get the X3 CE, but if your really on budget x2.6 ce should be fine. _________________
