Welcome to the HQ and we hope you enjoy the site and forum.

The error 7 code comes from a lose or broke ide cable.
Check your ide and make sure its pushed all the way into the mobo the disc drive and the harddrive.
If that dont fix it try replaceing the ide cable with a new one or one you know works.

Again welcome to the HQ. Very Happy

Might want to check the ide pins on the mobo disc drive and hard drive and make sure you dont have any bent over.

Error 7 is allways an ide prob or a bad trace, lets just hope its the ide.

there the little "lines" all over the motherboard... there actually metal leads running from place to place... if you have replaced the ide, and made sure its seated tight and that none of the pins are missing from the motherboard the dvd drive or the harddrive connections then "carefully" take out your motherboard and "inspect" it. what you would be looking for is any "burn" or "brown" or anything out of the ordinary... along the lines in the motherboard.

Hello there, southpolestorm13, welcome to the site.

I did not see any of the specs on your xbox listed above, do you know what type of hdd your xbox has? and what version the xbox is would help as well.

I can tell you that doing what wes213 recommended would be the best idea. He has helped me out in several different situations.

If you have any other questions I would be more than glad to offer my input. Pls do keep us posted.
