Is it possible to take a fan off the 1.0/1.1 heatsink fan and put it on my 1.4 heat sink? And is it possible to have it run at 12 volts?

I think you can put the fan and heatsink on a newer board but makeing it 12v wold burn it up real fast.

You wold be better of just putting a fan in the case pointing at the stock heatsink.

No all that is required as far as power is concerned is what the fan needs so in order to use a fan under 12v a some sort of compositor is required so yes and no. so no don't put a 10v fan on a 12v power source with out offering resistances of power for the fan.

I would just get a two in one adapter, so as to use the "Xbox Console's" fan source to see if you can control you temperature problem and hopefully the noise problem as well.
