as soon as i got home i deleteted the 2 folders and it played for about 15 mins than it froze again, im going to try and reverse my fan and see if maybe thats the problem

Sounds like you might need to grab a flashlight and start running traces.

i dont want to jinx myself but i think its fixed i reversed the fan and i was able to play a full game of fifa without it freezing up so hopefully that was the problem Thanx guys

I can't believe it was the fan. I just read an old post a month or so ago on another site and someone had the same problem and I completely forgot anout it cause I thought it would never come up again. Well glad you got it all workin righ. _________________

i know we got that fan problem out of the way but im having a similar problem...i was playing urban caos with the some trainers on and it seemed to play fine and everything but as soon as i was about to do the last mission on each level my video would go out from the xbox but the xbox would still be on with the orange button but no video. Im thinkning it could be the trainer or the HD because it seemed really hot when i touched it. Im gonna clear the cache folder again and try to play without the trainers on but could it be some other reason?

Yeah i wold say the trainer or a bad burn, you might want to add some fans to the xbox just to keep that from turning in to a prob.

I dont know if this helps but once this happens, the only way i can shut off the xbox is by removing the power cord because it wont turn off by pressing the button.
