I finally got internet at the house again. I have AT&T DSL. The modem is a Motorola. For some reason I can not connect to the internet with my router. The router is an AirLink 101. I can connect to the internet with a direct connection from the PC to the DSL modem. I can get a connection when I hook up my PC and the XBOX to the router and FTP from PC to XBOX and vice versa. But for some doggone reason when I put the DSL modem on the router I can not connect to the internet. Any suggestions before I attempt to call AT&T tech support? _________________

I have found the best router for the money is the linksys routers. Every other router I tried was just a pain in the butt to get connected. Just my opinion. Or you could try calling att customer service. I hope you can speak multiple languages. There customer service is worst then Microsoft for outsourcing to diffrent countries that hardly speak english.

i used to work for AT&T DSL customer service yeah they definately outsource but the 2nd level of support is really horrible the first thing that comes to my mind on this issue is that your router may not be compatible with your modem....http://www.airlink101.com/index.html
go there and snoop around a bit...they have a support team and stuff so if your router is compatible you may just be able to give them a ring and fix it really quick _________________

Just wanted to let you guys know I got it fixed. I contacted AT&T Tech Support and actually got a guy that spoke English. Basically on the router side I had to set it to PPoE and on the modem side I had to log into the DSL modem by IP 192.168.1.254 and change it to non bridged. Now everything works like a champ. _________________

Last time I called AT&T for tech support for my broadband it took like an hour to get what I needed done, and I was treated like a compuer illiterate retard. The funny thing is, if they just told me what I had to do in the firtplace, I would have had it done within 10 minutes. _________________

The guy I got was named Alex. Seemed like he was just reading from a book or his screen step by step basically. Yeah, he talked to me like I was an idiot. But I was only on the phone with him for 10 mins. _________________
