I can't figure out how to take something like a person for instance out of a picture and put him or her in another backround or pic?Can anyone help?I am using Photoshop 4.0

I got the new PS so im not sure about yours, with the new one i just use the magic erase tool to remove the background then copy paste whats left.

There are a pile of tuts on it man and youtube even has video tut that work well for me.
But if you want to know something small ask away.

Photoshop is such a huge program, it woiuld take a lifetime to go through all of the features it had, especially the newer versions.
I've got the new version as well, and barely scratch the surface with what it can do.
In response to the question though, I would do the same as the other guys, use the magic eraser to get rid of the background then spend some time smoothing the edges and tidying the remaining image up. It works pretty well, as you can see in my sig.

I use PS CS2 and I like to use Filter - Extract and it's pretty ez to take objects out
