Hey everyone,

it's an xbox with Xecuter 2 modchip from a friend of mine,

what I did (with AID4.12 Lite):
backup of EEprom,
installed One-Click install: Evolution X,

tells me to shut down,
now doesnt boot anything, keeps on trying, all I get is Xbox logo, then flash of attempt to boot probably dash, but then xbox logo all over again...

not really familiar with modchips,

do they need to be turned of when installing with AID?

I've turned modchip off, and put SID5.01 on it, going to try again with AID 4.10 Lite, which with softmodding worked perfect... maybe something went wrong when updating the iso to 4.12...

anyone...

thanks in advance!

With a chiped xbox you put the dash in the C drive to get it to boot.
and you might want to get the X-2 config app and set you settings for it from the pc and then ftp the file it makes to the root C drive.
If you need any more info hit me up i run and love the X-2 chips.

thanks for your fast reply!

I've tried with 4.10 Lite (un-updated), no difference,

then I tried to install Evolution X to C drive,
still not booting,

then I made with X2 Config Maker v2.7.2 ini file: x2config.ini,
copied it to C: root,

still no difference.............

wish I had made a full back-up......

found this in backup files:

file called default.ini :

[XBE]
Path1=D:\default.xbe
Path2=E:\load\default.xbe
Path3=F:\load\default.xbe
Path4=G:\load\default.xbe
Path5=E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\menu.xbe

how do I replicate that? what does this mean?

I think this mean, MS dash at C,
Evolution X on E ?
where do I get default.xbe? so I can copy it in those folders?

thanks!

hmmm,

installed Ms Dash on C,
Evolution X on E,
installed XSelect,

now I get Error 21 with Modchip on and off...
(by the way,
3 switches:
one says bank 1 or bank 2 (its set to bank 2), what does that mean?)

will try to configure something with XSelect (never used it though...)
Arrow can't find anything about it through file manager...

Bank one and bank two are for the chips bios.
Have you flashed the bios and what bios did you use?
Unless you get the xselect working or use x-2 config to tell the chip to look on E it wont look for the dash on the E drive.

I don't know anything about bios,
it's still the first bios I guess, tried Bios Checker, but xbox froze, nothing happened and could not do anything,

I have in backup a bios.bin file...

flashing new bios will solve this? but that's not easy and risky...?!

but when I formated hd, and installed only Evolution X on C, it should have found it?

Try setting it to bank 1 and make sure the light on the chip is on.
Its blue when its on and red when its off.
Make sur the flash protect switch is on.
run the bios check again to see what bios is on it.

done that (this one on is green, off is red),

2nd switch was on unprotect, put in on protect,

Bios Checker:
256 bioses all unknown,
512 bioses also unknown,
(MD5 hash values are listed)

will switch to other bank and test again.........
Arrow same results....

guess I'm off to finding a flash tutorial.....

and they say Modchips make it easy, hmmm,
I like softmodding a lot better Wink

now I've looked and X2.5035 seems to be the latest version,
since it's a v1.1 Xbox, I'll need the old version in the rar,
checked that,

my only worry, read in other thread that there are other modchips (Aladin Xt) that also show Xecuter2 at boot underneath xbox logo...
and those work with 256kb bios... this is 512kb, am I at risk here?

there is only place for 1 bios right? you have either 512kb or 256kb version?

Edit:
the backup folder that I ftp'ed from the xbox to my pc contains a bios.bin file of 1MB and a disk.bin file of 512kb (amongst other files)...

anyone a clue ? ....

so I read here that 1mb bios is putting the 256kb bios 4 times in the Xecutor Bios Manager...

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/flashbios.php

strange things, so for a 512kb bios file, it would be added twice to the Bios Manager, or no need for all of that when using AID bios flasher?

will try it..........

I've loaded that bios.bin from backup folder into Bios Manager:

4x

256kb

X2 4979.06 REPACK

why does it say REPACK? what does that mean?

so I'm going with latest 256kb 4983.06 bios,

so the newest 5035 bios which is 512kb is not an option?
how do I know wether modchip can handle 512kb bios?

thanks for all help!
