What the 32k clusters do is stop the info on the hdd from corrupting after the 250gb mark.
So if your F or G drive is bigger then 250gb you make it 32k clusters so that when you get over 250gb of info on that patition you wont start droping files left and right.
What size hdd dose your bro have?

If it is 300gb you will really want to reformat the F drive to 32k clusters or when he hits around 250gb of info its just going to start droping files like there hot man.

This sounds like the solution to my problem. I have hit around 250gb on a 500 gig and keep getting errors installing more games. The directories are made but the files disappear from other directories....

I see this is your first post here man, welcome to the HQ and if you need anything hit us up and we will get to it asap for you.
and yeah man if you got 1 drive (lets say the F drive) and its over 250gb you need to use xbox partitioner to set the clusters to 32k to stop the info from curruption.
Its that or you can run under 250gb on F and less then 250 on a G drive and not need the 32k clusters.

Thanks for the welcome!! This is a friends box and it was driving me crazy. I was sure it was a limit on the directories that was doing it but obviously it was a coincidence. Is there a way to tell what clusters I am formatted at now? I am in the painful process of backing the drive up after I had already loaded it. I FTP'd the first time but now I am using Qwix to make ISO's to have them backed up anyway. I just want to ensure it's done for good this time!!!

Actually I was curious if you could TELL what the drive was formatted at, clusters wise. It's now a moot point though as I used your tut and reformatted it to 32k. I was just curious. I had already read your tutorial (it was a life saver, by the way ) and was prepared to reformat. All went well and I am in the process of reloading all 300gb back to it. I will know for sure if that was the problem, when I get up past 128 games, but I am confident it was... _________________ If it ain't broke, I probably haven't had time to mess with it.
