Was just reading some posts and I have to agree with you Wes. The X3 chip is badass!
For the longest time I would only install Xenium Ice chips, but I finally broke down and installed some X3 chips. I love that bugger. But, some noteworthy cheapmod chips with the ability to have an OS are also worth mentioning. SmartXX LT OPX and the XChanger have worked well for me.
The SmartXX LT OPX chip on the 1.6 machines can get a little quirky when quick soldered onto the underside of the mobo and the XChanger acts up with 1.4/1.5 machines for some reason, but otherwise they do a decent job.
I TSOP'd a 1.0 a couple years back and was pretty stoked at the results.
Later man!

Sup ice i wasent really saying that x3 is the onley chip (i hear and read the smart xx is a damn nice chip but dont know first hand) I was just giveing a quick list off the options i like to go with.
I use the X-2 chips on the mass jobs i have done in the past and tend to stick with what i know.
If im building an xbox for myself i like to try new things like the tsop and softmods, but if its not for me i use the x-2 since i know what im doing well enuff to do it blind.
I want to try a 24 gold chip next but im sure the next jobs going to be an x3 in my box to replace the x2 i got now.
Any way take it ez later on and all that what not.
