we softmodded it the dash is unleashx when you put in the dvd you get this message {you need to connect the dvd play back kit receiver to a controller port to watch movies] help im lost on this

You need to get an app called DVDx to play movies. It doesn't need the playback kit, and it called be installed with AID. Then set the DVDx's .xbe in unleashx's settings and it will run that everytime you put in a DVD. _________________

if you used sid to do the softmod, it should come with dvdx. Just check the e:/apps folder. You can set dvdx to be your default dvd player in the system/settings/autolaunch menu. _________________

well I got dvdx on his xbox had to ftp it off of mine and put it on his now it will play dvds. But I got one more question when you look on his dashboard at the app button and click it says text editor and does not show the app on his xbox?

the text editor is a built in function of the dash same as the file explorer

All that needs to be done is to install the app to the E drive apps folder and it will show up in the list.

make sure any paths to the applications are echoed here. Give me a shout if ur still stuck

for some strange reason he didnt have a Apps folder so I made one and put apps in and bam he has apps showing up. Thanks wes/pezzar/bong/darth and all others that helped we have another happy modded xbox nood.
