Ok so both times i have tried to install xbmc my xbox hdd has messed up so im not goin to use the installer off of AID Lite or AID Deluxe 4.10....ok so my hdd was locked ya know....and then i tried to install xbmc didnt work blah blah blah.....and so i went to go reboot my hdd....and i got an error 6....kernel - Cannot unlock HDD....i know it means that so i i hooked my xbox hdd up to my comp and booted up off of the xbhdm software....and i went to the linux unlock and lock tool....and i typed in unlockhd -a and it said detecting driver status and it listed some stuff and then it said done....well my drive was not unlocked so i decided to type in unlockhd -p xboxscene which when i locked it....thats what it said my password was but for safe sake i wrote down the serial#,xbox serial, eeprom number, and the hdd key....and well i tried typing all those in and none of them worked....i just want my xbox back to a normal softmod and im not gonna try to add any extra stuff for now....so if ya can help that would be very very much appreciated...Thank You....ohh by they way i have a 40 gig AT Maxtor D740x-6L

yes i do i have my eeprom backed up on my pc.....i have allready put it on the xbhdm cd and tried it that way and it didnt work....and i have no way of ftping it to my xbox....and i dont know how it messed up if i knew i prolly wouldnt be here....i just clicked on it....it installed so i went to to go re-boot and this all happend....i was lookin around i read something bout if you lock the drive on your comp it uses your computers motherboard so the password that locked it wouldnt be the same as the one you retrieved....idk if thats true or not....another thing....i was wondering what if i format the drive completly?.....i dont care if i lose everything i can allways add it back....

One time I accidentally typed in the wrong character in one spot and had the smae problem....Check you lock code again and see if it the right one you typing in...Installing XBMC shouldnt have messed anything up.....
If that dont work then use the XBHDM cd you made from your EEPROM, C, E, and reformat the drive and do it over again.. As long as you have your EEprom your safe, The C and E folder can be optained from anyone...
Your in better shape than that kid who stuck his power brick in water and shocked himself..

Dont kick xbmc for a user error.
Have you been useing the aid disc to install xbmc every time?
Seems like few folks out thare get it to go that way.
If you get it back up and running you need to hand install the new svn build and that will get it running.

Yeah don't hate on XBMC lol I love that dashboard (so freakin many file formats supported). Anyway if you have a modchip like an X3CE and your AID isn't working (this happened to me). You can just FTP from the Xecuter 3CE BIOS menu. _________________ |Xbox|NTSC|Version 1.1|Hardmodded with Xecuter 3CE Chip and Xapt3r Solderless Kit|Seagate 320 GB Hard Disk Drive|Phillips DVD Drive|Running Xbox Media Center Dashboard with MC360 Skin|

Hmm well I think there is some thing like Xbox Hard Drive Maker that you can use to put stuff on the Hard Drive. You have to put it in your PC though. Not sure how it works though because I never had to use it. You should research it. _________________ |Xbox|NTSC|Version 1.1|Hardmodded with Xecuter 3CE Chip and Xapt3r Solderless Kit|Seagate 320 GB Hard Disk Drive|Phillips DVD Drive|Running Xbox Media Center Dashboard with MC360 Skin|
