Honestly, Vista isnt all that bad. After using it for awhile I've only had a few problems with it. Once the first service pack comes out it will be much better. I didnt like XP when it first came out but that really grew on me. _________________

This is probobly the earliest I've gotten an operating system after it first came out. I was using windows 3.1 till about 96-97 then i got windows 95. After that I didnt get 98 till about 2000. XP pro didnt come my way till about 03. With vista, I actually was suing it at my buddy's house about 6 months before it was availible to the public. _________________

i've been using vista quite a lot recently sorting friend's computer problems, it seems anything i want to do on vista takes 4 or 5 times longer on vista. Not just because of its resource hunger, but all the useful menus and settings are hidden in some obscure places.
unless they can fix that in a service pack, i'm gonna delay it as long as possible

I know what you mean. I wouldnt be using Vista but it was forced on me when I got my new laptop. I figure why go back to xp now when Vista is gonna be the future. I didnt go back to 98 cause I didnt like XP at first. I hated 95 but I didnt go back to 3.1 cause it was simpler. _________________

If I thought like that, I would have never went from Dos to windows 3.1. I had the DOS shell gui. _________________

i see yuor point, but what can you REALLY do easier/quicker on Vista than on XP?
especially with all the tweaks and apps that have been built for XP.
At least with those previous OSs there were some pretty major upgrades to networking etc, but Vista seems like just a visual upgrade, and a bad one at that
