Use XBOX-HQ's auto-installer instead. The apps are up-to-date. Your bios is determined by your setup. Especially, if you use an auto-installer. I use the X2 4977 bios. Probably because it was the first one I flashed with. I modified it with XBTool to look for UnleashX and Evoxdash .xbe's on F before booting the MS dash. Also, I just used the bios that is made for HDs larger than 137GB, just got a new Maxtor 200GB. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

That's a good point. Slayers will work fine as far as installing Evox, but the apps should be "fresher", which hopefully, but not necessarily, means better. If it's easy for you to download and properly burn it to disc, use Xbox-HQ AI, but if not, use what ya got! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Do you use that with the same chip?
What size bios would I need for this chip, what bay should I put it on?
Is there a tutorial on how to flash this?
Thx again.

You can use the Xecuter2 4983.06 or .67 with Xenium's, Xecuter 2.3, Xecuter 2.6, SmartXX, Aladdin...
It's a great bios and will do you just fine. You're giving this too much thought. They only time you should worry about the bios you are using is if you are chipping a 1.6 machine, then you are a little more limited.
Also, if you are particular how many partitions you get, then you will want to make up your mid whether you use the .06 or .67 bios.
The Xecuter2 4983 bios' are proven...I have used them tons of times.... It will give you all you need.

No, one is in one Xbox, one in the other.

I use 512KB BIOS

On my chips, I've got 2 banks... one has Cromwell, the other doesn't. You want to flash the one without Cromwell. You need to have the switch set to the bank with Cromwell in order to flash the chip, so I don't know if there's any way to screw up what bank it goes into. If you boot up with the bank with Cromwell on it, you can only flash the other bank. If you're booting from the other bank, I don't think you can flash at all!

It's because you have a Thompson drive and they are picky. Burn the bios.bin and dummy file to a DVD-R if you have a dvd burner. If not, try a different CDRW, by different I mean a different brand.
The Thompson drive reads the more expensive CDRW's, but it should read most DVD's either + or -
Will your 2.6 chip flash from the HD? If so, see if you can unlock the HD, FTP the bios.bin file to your xbox and flash that way. I am not real familiar with the 2.6 flashing capabilities.

how am i supposed to enable the ftp on the xbox, evox isnt installed yet, when i boot up it goes to the cronwell bios.
I burned the bios and the bummy file to the dvd, put it in the xbox, it didnt boot from it, and when I go to flash bios from CD, the tray opens, I put the disc in, and nothing happens.

My experience with the Thomson drives was somewhat frustrating. I could get it to read CD-RW, but I'd often have to try flashing the chip several times before the DVD drive would read the disc... like 5-10 times!!!
Persistance may help you... or borrow someone's Phillips or Samsung. _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

I went out and bough DVD-R and it reads the dvd, then it says no bios update found... Haulting!!
and If i start flashing, and it stops half way through, would it damage my chip? would I have to buy a programmer and program it back?

Thanks for your help so much guys, I couldnt of done it without you. I installed avox, along with a bunch of other goodies with the auto installer, and flashed the bios.
I used Memorex DVD-R dvd's on a Sony DVD-RW Burner and it worked on the 1st try.
I didnt think it would be this easy, but it was.
Thank again for everything
