UNSURE OF EXACTLY HOW TO FLASH A NEW BIOS FOR MY X2 MODCHIP ( CHIP LPC BASED CSST 49LF020 ) BIOS 4977 AT THE MOMENT ; I HAVE BOTH SLAYERS 2.7 AND AID 4.0 ON DISKS AND AT THE MOMENT XBOX BOOTS IN TO EVOX . WHEN I LOOK AT THE AID 4 FILES , I CAN FIND VARIOUS X2 BIOS 'S IN THERE , BUT I THINK 512.X2.5035.V16PLUS .RAR , IS THE ONE I NEED ! WHEN FILE IS OPENED UP , IT COMES UP WITH A ISO FILE WHICH I HAVE BURNED TO DISC ; I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NEXT , HELP , PLEASEE , I DONT WANT TO BRICK MY NEW TOY ( LOL )
BY THE WAY , I HAVE IT ALL HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER , AND XBMC SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE AND I CAN FTP OK , ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT , THANKS

I am pretty new to modding , but basically bought a second hand xbox with x2 chip in with the intention of using xbmc on it for music films e.t.c .I bought a 320 gb hd for it and have managed to get it all working via evox dash and xbmc (using aid )except only about 130 gb of the hd actually formats for use ; i have looked in to things and it seems i need a newer bios to format the extra hd space ! I just need someone to give me a talk through on how to do it correctly as i fear my xbox may be knackered after i finish with it .

your chip have bios bank switch on the front of the box? you can buy a programmer for the X2 chips...its like 15 bucks.

Can i not just change the bios using AID or SLAYERS , and how do i do it pleaseeee can anyone help me out with this . Thanks .

Ok here is how you do it...Get the X2_5035 bios off xbins. Then get the X2ool off another website. Use X2tool to open up ROM(or bios) and open the one you wanna change. Once it comes up, look for something like partions or something like that. Choose the option, Partion 6 takes 137gb/Partion 7 takes rest. This will make the bios now make a 137 gig F:\ partion, and the rest of the drive will be made into a G:\. Save these changes by clicking on save ROM, and rename the bios bios.bin. Once you flash your chip again, you will need to reformat the HDD again, so have a dash boot cd around.
Also the way to reflash without buy a programmer. If you have one working bios, put EvoX as the dash. Now FTP into your C:\ once EvoX is on. Take the new bios you wanna flash and put it into the C:\bios folder. Now restart your xbox. Then go to system ulites, flash bios, then choose the bios.bin file, and press y to flash it. It should now work.
If you dont have a working bios, turn off the chip, softmod your xbox with EvoX, and do everything else the same. Expect right when you are around to press the bios file you wanna flash turn the chip on. Now you can flash it.

Ok first you dont need x2tool for 5035 it uses a different tool to change the bios. X2 config live maker is what you need and use X2 5035.137V1.6 is the bios you need. it is already set the way you want it. As for flashing with evox that is all correct I would do it that way unless you used the bios addon pack when burning AID if you did then you can use that to flash it. Just go to advanced options then select bios flashing menu and all the bios you want will be there. But when you downloaded AID it comes with a bios files folder you can find the bios you need there.
