I wqas recently looking on Ebay for Halo 2, when i came across an auction for an xbox with 8 games. It did say there were a few problems with the xbox , but i only realy want halo 2 anyway, so i bid for it and won the lot for £8.23 Yes thats right £8.23 what a bargain.
I have already soft modded my current Xbox and i thought i would do the same with this one.
However when i try to load the softmod gamesave for agent under fire 007, it just comes up with the error 21 " xbox requirres a service, if i turn the xbox off then on again everything is OK.
Could it be the softmod gamesave is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled?
I,m not sure if the previous owner has had an attempt at modifier this in someway..... The on off button does,nt work... as soon as you turn the power on it starts up without using the power button, although sometimes it wont start at all .... unless you keep pressing the eject button.
It all seems a little strange....any Ideas???
I guess i'm maybe asking too much expecting to be able to softmod having only paid £8 together with ahatful of games

Did the owner befor you have it soft modded and has it ever been opend.
The last time i saw an err.21 was when i tryed to log in to xbox live with a modded xbox had to install a fresh MS dash to fix it.

I have opened the xbox, on the HDD there is a lable with a failure code sticker on it "00d^^053" and dated as 14.03.2002, so iguess it has run ok for sometime after that.
There does do nopt appear to be any other mods..

Well if you payed thgat little for it, I assume theres something wrong with it. Error 21 is a general software error. So something isnt working right on it. _________________

Putting a mod chip in my fix this deal but who knows iv never seen a failure code sticker befor.

Reinstalled the softmod software onto the Memeory card and then copied onto the Xbox and everythng worked.

Way to go man good to hear it.
The last thing anyone wants to do is reinstall stuff but its most offten the best thing you can do.

everytime i get error 21 i just throw in my aid disc and it will boot right up.then i go from there.Someone probably tried softmodding it and gave up when they got that error.Try throwing in a aid disc and see if that helps.
