Last night me and the ol lady were watching a movie on the xbox. When the movie was over i went downstairs to turn off my server and my router locked up. when i came back upstairs the xbox was frozen. I turned it back on but it wouldn't boot.
I looked inside today and noticed a gnd wire not hooked to anything. I don't see how it would just come undone on it's own, but i seem to remember the xbox doing the same thing when i was building the case, and it had to do with that wire. I can't remember for sure though.
As far as the front led's go, there not flashing or anything. There solid just as if it were booting normally.
When i hit the power, my screen goes black and that's it. No xbox logo, no sound. I don't know what's up with the gnd wire, but i'm thinking it has more to do with the router locking up and freezing the xbox.
Ant ideas at all? _________________ Xbox 1.0

Ok, before anyone tries to give ideas, i just put the ebox back in it's place, rechecked all av cables at the box and at the tv and found that nothing was wrong.
I started the xbox a couple times and still the same problem. I noticed a one one my fans gnd broke though, (and of course it's a huge pain to get to)
I decided to hook up the network cable to see if i could ftp into the xbox since it seemed almost like it was working, but maybe my tv or switchbox was to blame.
The damn thing turned on, and booted right to the clock screen. I set the time/date, and went right to unleashx.
I'm still open to any ideas as to what may have caused it, so that i can check it out, since i have to tear it all apart just to fix the fans gnd anyway.
I still love my xbox though _________________ Xbox 1.0

I know, i can't quite figure it out myself. It is definately a short somewhere though. I took the case apart to fix the fan wire, and then it wouldn't boot again. Messed around with it for a minute and re-routed a couple wires, and now it's back to working.
Guess i'll have to get it going with the case apart and play with the wires, and connectors to see exactly where it's at. Good thing is the xbox never gets moved, well except for times like this. _________________ Xbox 1.0
