Hey, just finished a mod for someone over at the xbox-scene...yeah, I know..can you believe that! Someone from the scene actually got something from a HQ'er....HA...
Anyway, I didn't know how I was going to like it...but it looks nice.
DJB...BTW, these are what yours look like mate! The Jewel Light that you see on top of the machine isn't the super bright ones that I have just started selling. It is the first batch that I got from the xboxspot..you know, that place I am never buying anything again....HA.
Anyway, here it is:
I just wish those damn things didn't take so friggin long to do! Now all it needs is the power button to be blue...very sweet!

That looks sweet. I have done something similar with my crystal. I found it quite hard to find blue/red leds for the front panel but I have some spare if you want them. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

which site is the best to buy led lights from i want my jewel to light up and i also want my controller ports to light up anyone know which site to use?

Actually, I dont have LED's for sale, I sell the controller ports already modded, and also 10 LED Jewel Rings.
If you are looking for just LED's
Go to my site, www.themodgod.com and on the first page that loads look in the lower right had corner for a link that says xbox repair guide..
click on it and check out his LED's..only .15 each.
Why go there from my site you ask.....cuz I get paid...hehehe...
If you don't feel like doing the work, I can mod a set of controller ports for you. And, send you a super bright jewel ring if you wish. Just let me know. I can even give you a little discount if you send me your controller ports to replace the ones that I send you. I pay 12.00 per pair, so if you send me yours, I'll take off 12.00.

I just caght that LOTR avatar...sweet! I have a pretty cool gollum one..where he is mouthing the word, "Murderer", it's pretty cool. I havent used it in awhile.

One more thing, for those who are making controller port lights and useing the method where you solder resistor onto the area where the red wire connects to the port, then bending it down I have a new method I am doing. I found that when I cut the leg of the resistor down and soldered it to the point and then bent it down, I ended up popping the resistor off the solder point. The closer you cut the leg down to the resistor itself, the harder it is to bend, and if you cut the leg too long then the resistor is too long and you can't get the metal covering back on.
So, I now bend the resistor leg in a z like pattern and can lay it down on the point that I am about to solder. Man, it holds in there nicely now. Here is what the resistor looks like when it's bent:

Will try it your way when I do some later, I always had the resistor coming off the led, I found a little trick to doing it now but will try your way too soon as i can get this damn luxeon star to work.
