Hello all, I am very new to xbox modding and modding in general. I got the HyperX mod chip and was eventually able to install it on my xbox v1.0 using the lego trick. Then i got stuck on flashing a new bios. I couldnt figure out which bios to use. so i eventually got the "EvoX V2.6_EjectFix - V1.0" and flashed my xbox over the network. now my xbox tries to turn on 3 times and then flashes red and green. Is there a way to reflash my drive with a new bios, or do i have to get a new mod chip?
I didnt try to unplug the chip because it was a pain to install in the first place, but im assuming my xbox itself is fine and just the hyperx is messed up. Is that correct?

Ok you see the switch on the mod chip? Flip it to the other side. The hyperx has two banks, just one is a secert bank. Download this bios i have here, its the X2_5035 bios and it will work fine. Use this exact bios and you'll have a working xbox with the best bios the hyperx can have.
Awesome it booted when i flipped the switch. I thought that switch was to turn off the mod chip to play xbox live? i dont planning on using xbox live so it doesnt really matter to me. Im going to flash my chip with that bios i downloaded from you and since i made that mistake i going to ask some newbie questions so i dont mess it up again.
Do i have to/ should i back up my current BIOS first? i tried to ftp into the address of my xbox but it doesnt connect. im using the address it gives and username: xbox password:xbox because that is what i remember reading somewhere. or can i only ftp once i get a dashboard on my xbox?
That rar i dled from you has two files, bios and x2config. i upload the bios file using the web-browser, right? or should i do it using the ftp if i can?

When u click flash bios over network, it will give you a address something like this: 192.168.0.105. This is what i got today when flashing my new chip. It will be different for you, but when it gives it to you go into internet explorer(or whatever your web browser is) and Http:\\ whatever your address is. Then flash it with the bios itself. The config file isn't used till later.
Edit: if you mess up this flash ill tell you how you can reflash it even though both switches are used. So try to make it work but i can help if you mess it up. _________________

Awesome, the BIOS worked perfectly. Now i am on the next step. I downloaded SlaYer's EvoX Auto Installer v2.7 and burned it to dvd. When i go to new install - retail HDD its asking me if i have a full backup on my computer.
I thought i can only FTP once i have a dashboard on my xbox, but i dont have one yet.
There was an option to Save BIOS / EEPROM (XBOX C:\backup) which i clicked and it said backing up but i dont know where it backed it up to. Is there a way to backup my xbox before i install the dashboard?

I can't tell you because i add my own files on myself by making a boot cd then FTPing the dash files over to the C:\. So can't help you much there.
