ok , when i rename xboxdash.xbe to default.xbe i get error 21 screen telling me my xbox needs service

i wouldnt have renamed it honestly, see if you can FTP or get AID to load, even see if your brother has the disc he softmodded with.
If you cant FTP or cant get AID to load(or dont have AID), use the game, and load the gamesave exploit. Then you can FTP and rename it xboxdash.xbe and reinstall the dashboard. _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

With ftp you have to connect to the internet right? ( sorry , i never used it.......never had a need to either ) I only have dialup if thats the case , so would there be a way to just put it on a cdr or somethig? I have the thompson drive in mine but am purchasing an lg one to put in there ( i may able to use my girls samsung drive to do it )

If your computer has a network card you can use a crossover cable to connect your xbox to your pc and FTP with that. _________________

IM me on AIM tomorrow so I can see if they are the right files, personally I'd let someone else take care of it, because I don't know the real problem and am slightly too intoxicated to tell if what I think it is, really is what could be wrong.

if you get the sid 4.5 knave it will put the ms dash back in for you so you dont need to mess with the ms dash part of it then you will need to put the two game saves to your hdd and you will need one of the 3 games thers mechassalt splinter cell and 007 i have not had any probs with my 5.1 ss settings and im running a v1.0 with sid 4.5 and a 160 wd hdd _________________ <a href="http://www.us.playstation.com/PSN/Users/BUD_TOKER_13"><img src="http://pid.us.playstation.com/user/BUD_TOKER_13.jpg" width="235" height="149" border="0" /></a>

YEP!! That was the answer to alot of my problems.............the ms dash!! I was able to reload it with aid4.0. After i set up everything from in there 1. my High Def problem went away 2. my 5.1 problem was fixed and 3. I never bashed my xbox into a million bits like i was going to do , LOL .
So things are better ( alot better ). I still have a few issues with some stuff but will start another thread about them if i get stuck on them. Thanks alot guys for all of your help , and thank you "hypno" for the Pm's!!
