Hello people. I'm new to the XBOX scene (But not new to Console or PC's). I have started performing backups with my XBOX Games and have run into some problems. I'm using Craxtion 3.0 to create the .ISO and it seems to work very well. I burn the image using Nero to a TDK DVD-RW for testing and it works fine. I then tried burning it to a Shintaro 4X DVD-R and the XBOX tells me the Media is 'Unknown'?
Can anyone tell me what Media is compatible with XBOX (Samsung Drive)?
Many Thanks

hhmm, usually if it says unknown it means it can read the disc but it wasnt burnt properly... but craxtion is supposed to be good, i just use GDFImage, to make and iso, then burn that with nero6 ultra... what games was it you were trying to back up??

give you all a quick tip..
I dont use Xiso creation tools as most of them suck and dont work apart from a few that i have heard work fine but i cant tell yas for sure, so..
Get a copy of Prassi Primo DVD (i think thats the full name).. You should be able to get a freeware version or something (we only want it to create the xiso hehehe )
Ok once you get it (primo DVD).. Install it and follow these easy steps..
Please remember that im doing this off the top of my head..
1. Hold Ctrl and press 'D' for data.. This is the same as clicking on data disc.
2. Drag all your files (not the base directory) into the fields provided in primo dvd.
3. Right click (cant think of the tag i think its destination.. Im on my laptop again) and make sure that the root is shown as e.g. *.*
4. Now we need to setup the mode etc for the image..
5. Right click again on where you draged and dropped and choose properties... we want to setup the following properties..
MODE1
UDF 8+3 (cant remember again.. Big weekend)
6. Now all you have to do now is right click where you have dragged your files and choose create image or something like that.. It will produce a XISO on our pc HD that you can burn and the xbox will read normally..
The best thing about this method is that you can put the games/dvd/cdrw in your pc and read the files directly or even copy them easier..
DONE..
I will come back and fix this post when i install prassi soon guys.. if you give it a go just ask and i can help more then. Its a bit hard to remember everything since i havent had a pc for 3 months.. (only my laptop).. _________________ HQ Network:

When I reflashed my bios, I used the new Evox M7 and Kotor worked great.
I'm also trying out a few other apps and I'll get some reviews to you. _________________ "Modding the world, one xbox at a time"

I use Princo without any drama.
In general, all new games have the DVD protection, but not many problem so far.
There are some difficult games, including the one that requires DVD-9 like Metal Gear Solid. There is a utility out there to "split" this game into 2 DVDs. _________________ I love XBox, PS2 and GameCube!
