Well i just found this when i got on Here ya go post what u think!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nf/20070402/tc_nf/51176

U know this is kinda off topic but ok this is just like all those people in the usa that argue about the dumbest things like the 10 commandments or God and all that hey if u dont like it dont try to get rid of it there is other people that due believe in these things so why should they get rid of something because diffrent people believe in diffrent things This happen by me. Well 2 hours away it was in the news for a couple months or so.

Up north a building had the 10 commandments(i probly spelled this wrong) but anyways it was in front of the building for more then 40 years and all of a sudden someone didnt like it and they tryed to sue the county or get rid of it and then other people joined in about it too so finally after 2-3 months they took it down. Question is what about those people that did like it there dont they have the right to see it there. Another one the Minnesota twins dome a person was complaining that they see a nautzy dam i cant spell this morning long weekend i guess but anyways they thought they see that at the top of the roof and a person acually tryed to sue the state because of it of course didnt win but then other people started complaining about it. Who CARES U ARE THERE TO WATCH THE GAME NOT LOOK UP AT THE ROOF!

Now with video games if you dont want your kids to play them read the back find out what rating it is or read the front were ever it is and look it up find more info on it before u buy it dont complain about it because u bought it and let your kids play it and they swear now and that. Whos fault is it of course becuase ur to lazy to look up the ratings. Dont ruin it for the people that like the games ha and im one of those people. Sorry guys im just pissed this morning when i seen that about the GTA.. Post what u think!

Ha and why didnt they say anything about SCARFACE VIDEO GAME! BECAUSE i would Kill them ALL!!!! SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!!

Although GTA contains many scenes of violence, so too do numerous movies that are set in New York -- yet the city does not make an outcry about being depicted cinematically as a haven for prostitutes, mafiosos, or serial killers, noted Jason Della Rocca, executive director of the International Game Developers Association.

Man i love this guy!! YA NY MAYOR what u say about that huh PUNK!

I cant believe the mayor of NY is trying to say that its the "safest city in America". Honestly, I live in the poorest city in America "cleveland" and its a hell of a lot safer then new york. Its got one of the lowest crime rates in America. You know the whole issue with movies and video games is money. When a film is shot in a city, the movie has to pay the city. So if a violent movie is shot in New York, even if its full of violence, no one is gonna complain. But lets assume its not about the money. If you are gonna use the Mayors logic, why not attack Law and Order. Just about every episode someone gets shot, stabbed, or beaten to death. And personaly, I wish you got points for killing cops in GTA. Twisted Evil "I'll show you illegal search and siezure" Twisted Evil

Some people get so worked up over games, I just don't understand.

I own Burnout Revenge, but I don't leap into my car every day and try to ram the traffic for bonus points.
I own Ninja Gaiden, but I don't dress in black, leap from rooftops wielding a samurai sword.
I own The Godfather, but I don't break into properties, intimidate owners, steal cars and bribe police officers.

People that think that games affect the way we live our REAL lives amuse me. I do believe that if people follow the age ratings games are given, children are not influenced so much by it, but even saying that, my partners brother is 14 and he plays the Godfather without finding the need to reinact it.

People like this mayor need to spend less time on computer games and more time on real issues. Games are here to stay, we don't take them seriously, we do know they aren't real, so move on with your life!!

Rant over. Very Happy

FC

Honestly I am not surprised. Previous versions of GTA have been a far resemblance of the cities they were supposedly "imitating". However, with new next gen graphics, the cities are looking more and more real. Now I am a firm believer in the ESRB, and enforce it every day at work. When I see a parent buying their 12 year old child a Teen or Mature game, I let my opinion be known. However, just like the movie theaters cannot deny a child entry with guardian (to most extents) I cannot deny purchase if the parent is the one doing so.

But I move off topic.

With the rate of murders and terrorism only increasing over the past 10 - 15 years, it's only human nature to lash out at something that depicts reality. Being a parent, I fully understand the city's "Point of View". But as a gamer, and hardcore entertainment enthusiast; I fully support Rockstar and and any other game developer pursuing their "art".

"Britney posed for naughty pictures!" then don't look. "Jenna Jameson takes on a guy and two other girls! BURN HER!!!" Go to hell! As humans we have the freedom to do what we want within constitutional limits, and even then, it's still a 240 year old document that has been amended and changed more times than Dennis Rodman's physical appearance.

I was lucky enough to start out my gaming career right as the ESRB was starting to flower into a respected enterprise. And my gaming choices really were never based on Ratings. Hell, I ignored them just as much as the aforementioned parents. However, I do know that there are people out there that take video game fantasy into our wonderful reality. Those people need help. I won't deny that.

Maybe Ozzy's record really did have the devil's message in it. Maybe every violent movie has a subliminal message that says "Kill your neighbor". However, we are human and have the freedom to choose. We know what right and wrong is. And to those of us who are unable to make that choice, I feel sorry for you. To be effected so by fantasy must be horrible.

I foresee the launch date of GTAIV being delayed considerably because of this view point. And that is sad. We can make movies about the greatest tragedies of our time (Pearl Harbor, World Trade Center, 300, etc...) however, when a game comes along that allows you to exercise your human right (choice) it is criticized because now the director's not in complete control. The player is. The mayor and the "city" can exercise their first amendment rights, but the game developers can't?

I don't write the following words to be anti patriotic. But they need to be said. We need to make a game about plane hijacking. We need to be comfortable enough with ourselves about being the bad guy. While I wouldn't buy such a game, especially if it were based on 9-11, or sell it consciously, I wouldn't demean it just because it showed something I didn't like.

However, we can make movies about the same subject. Why? Because the good guy always wins? In the game, you might lose and the bad guy might succeed? Guess what. on 9-11, they did! They won. And while the conspiracies might say that it was all government controlled (which I won't deny) and it wasn't Bin Laden (ah, you poor soul... how does a 70 year old man on dialysis get around so much?) we still have to accept the fact that games are more... controllable than a violent movie.

Have you seen Saw III? In the first 15 minutes there are THREE full on torture scenes of the most grotesque nature. However, it's one of the top horror movies of all time. Because we love blood and gore, don't we? But when the user, the viewer, the player can physically cut that person's arm off on screen, it suddenly is "too real". Piss on you who agree with that.

Go buy a Wii and play Godfather. I would much rather imitate choking that person on screen with my two controllers, and watch that fake person die than to get so mad at the world that I walk into work and choke my boss the same way. Games give many people release, and I know of a lot of places that use that release as a real therapy. Because it keeps those violent tendencies in check, it lets the person vent, rather than take an assault rifle to work and gun down everyone in sight.

Tell me you don't feel better, Mr. Mayor, going home after a long night of work, turning on your 360 (or Wii, or even nintendo) and laying slaughter to every bad guy you see at night, because maybe... JUST MAYBE you picture your boss' face on every badguy. Or your annoying assistant. But you go into work the next morning with a smile on your face, feeling better after that 5 hour frag-fest. Knowing that you imagined the violence, but will never actually do it.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong... But these are just my opinions. My first amendment rights. I choose to exercise them. But watch out. Habeas Corpus is gone. Say the wrong thing and Mr. Bush might decide he doesn't like you. Patriot Act? Nah, it should be called the "Pissed off at the world act". Welcome to the US of A. The land of the free and the home of the silent... We're now pointing fingers at everyone else but the person to blame.

Have a nice day...

Dude i just think this is funny You now because Specially Guys if we didnt have video games and cars and stereos and all that other cool shit to pass the time we probly shoot are selfs instead of siting down with the wife ha but ya there has been a couple times were kids have blamed it on games.

I dont think its the game i think its that kids staight of mind. That hes all pissed about something so hes going to go take it out on peeps. Like i said its the parents fault if they buy there kid the games that are not rated for there age. There is adds about it everywere. But now adays kids are so spoiled they get what they want when they want most of the time. They dont do chores, this is age group from 8-15. Im not saying all are doing this but A high % of kids are Spoiled. Yo dude when i didnt sit down on the bus and got into a fight on the bus my dad found out you know what he did he taped my ass to a chair for 4 hours thats how long i could hold it for cus i was little and had to piss really bad and told him i wouldnt get in trouble on the bus again. I never did get introuble. Sometimes kids need punshiment not just sent to there room. But a spanking here and there which u cant even give now cus child abuse and also the teachers put that in the kids minds right away if your parents hit u call the cops how sad is that. How are u to punish your kid if they do something wrong. This country has gone all to hell i think.

There is so many reasons to talk about this and the way the goverment is and what there doing wrong. Like i seen on the news a little while back in minnesota there was this big ass building that like colapsed or some shit well they wanted to fix it they said that it would cost tax payers 12million dollars to repair it. And mean while they just closed 5 sschools down how the f#&@ does that happen that 12 mill should of went to schooling not to repair a old piece of shit building.

But like i said if they stoped making games and that ever I would never work again ha they can kiss my ass... Most people are so stress out but when they play a video game every thing just goes away Smile well at least for me tell my yahoo msg buzz me on my computer ha. If you guys get any more headlines like that post them. We could talk about how the goverment is screwing us lmao.. SPECIALLY ON TAXES AND GAS PRICES! ha Well im go to bed everyone have a great day!!
