Last year, at the end of october, i had a problem with my xbox, and i couldn't fix it myself because I'm still deployed in Iraq, so this guy offered to fix it for me, and I mailed him him my xbox, he said he would fix it for free since i'm in Iraq, anyways he said he finally got it fixed, that was in February, and he sent a PM letting me know that he had shipped the xbox that was mid February, so to this day I'm still waiting for the xbox to arrive, I asked him if he had the receipt from the post office and he said no because his apartment caught fire and the reciept was in the apartment on his desk, now my only assumption is that the xbox got stolen on the somewhere on its way to iraq, and the post office can't do anything without that receipt, the only reason i bought the xbox was to help me relax and somehow motivated while i'm deployed in Iraq, i could buy another one ,well not really just found out my wife was pregnant with my second child so i'm trying to save some money, now i'm in iraq with no xbox, and another 6 months to go. Maybe this is not a big deal for some but when you are away fighting a war, it means a lot, it helps soldiers' morale. believe it or not.

Thank you for being of service to the country sir.
I admit I started out skeptical, but I think I've eliminated that for myself.
In reading further, am I to assume that this is a request for a replacement for you from us?
I'm trying to understand if you are just venting, or is this is a solicitation for a replacement?
Personally, my thought is that if we are to chip in to help the man in uniform that is busy kicking ass on the bad guys, perhaps we can put up a donation link for the serviceman? Thoughts ya'll?
Ironic since one of our admins just had his ripped off last week. And by supposed friends too. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

hey guys, i have been working two full time jobs, trying to get my life back like it was, the fire really hit me hard. also alacr182 i have done all i can do, to help with the post office, i have went down there several times, no luck. as soon as i get my life back together. ill work on building a xbox for ya. its the least i can do to repay a GI for his service as i cant be held responsible for a transit issue.. i am a honest person. and when i say im a do something, that means i will. it may take some time, as i am still recovering from the lost. but ill get around to it. i havent giving up on this site, or any of our members, just working like crazy.
i will continue to hassle the post office. in hopes of some damn answers, as to why my aunts belongings that i sent to my aunt also didnt get to her. which was sent around the same time as yours. she is currently in berlin, germany living with family there.

I shipped my xbox to j8994 back in dec and and he told me that it got messed up in the fire he had in his building . so ive been in contact with him and from various conversations with him and from what i hear i think he is a pretty honest guy and just had some bad luck.. I am still waiting on my xbox but i am being patient because i know he is trying hard to get it fixed, so im not going to jump into conclusions just yet.

I will vouch for J8994 he is a great guy. He is just going through a hard time right now. He has done some work for me in the past and I was completely happy with it. So if he says he will get you a new one he will. It just may take a little time because of his current situation.

I'm sorry to hear about your fire J, I too had a fire recently. I'm just lucky I got home in time to save all my electronics, but I did lose all my important papers. I guess I did learn a life lesson though: Make sure the bowl isnt cherried before you put it away.... _________________
