I finaly got around to trying to upgrade my hard drive the other day with a 40 gig drive using this tutorial: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-153.html .I did every step up to 8 with no problems. When I got to the boot screen and selected the default option one (boot vga console xbox-drive utilities) it stops with a message saying like "this is no xbox console". I'm about 90% positive I did everything right up to this point. I did some looking around on the net and found out some PCs cant be used for this process. Is this my problem or did my dumb ass screw something up? _________________

So, at the point before you press option 1, the only HDD connected in the PC is the Xbox HDD, yes? At no point did you disconnect the power from the HDD right?
Also, the Xbox HDD is powered by the Xbox, not the PC yes?

The drive I was trying to upgrade was the only one connected... Never disconnected the power to the HDD but it was powered by the PC.... It didnt say anything in the tutorial about being powered by the xbox . I'm gonna try it powered by the xbox later when I get a chance. Hopefuly that was my problem... _________________
