thanks, so i guess the splitter then connects to the hard drive cable?

is there a mod that can be done to the xbox to convert it to 12v without the use of a splitter?

Yeah, its a molex splitter, which connects to the HDD power cable.
As far as I'm aware, there is a way/place to solder it to the board for a more permanent connection. As to the location it would be soldered, I'm unsure.

maybe i can find some tutorial or such on how to connect it up,as this is new to me,so i wanna get it right first time!!

but, i think it would look really cool in my new xcm case i ordered..

the fan I bought at circuitcity, came with a Molex Connector.. usually they do since there made for pc's...

so how did you wire the fan up with the molex? was it a 12v fan? or 7v like the xbox one?

all fans are 12V, even the original xbox fan is, but to keep the noise down they made it 7v. you can wire up the regular upto 12v and be fine. but a glowing one is cooler... any 80mm is fine..
