I'm been trying to upgrade my hardrive in my xbox for awhile now. I have just about everything i need (bigger HD, eeprom backup, and the prgram needed). The only problem is my PC. The problem with the PC is that windows won't recognize the CD ROM drive or the network card. My freind tells me its a problem with the system registry. Is this just a windows problem? Or will this prevent me from locking a HD for my XBOX? My freind tells me I should probobly just install a new copy of windows, so I assume I can still boot from the CD drive.

hmmmm, I use a desktop computer to setup xboxs. I pull the IDE cable from my HD in my computer and I hook up the new XbHD and start the computer. I then press esc. so I can boot from my dvd drive. I have the boot disc inside the dvd drive that I made with xboxhdm.

You have to remember to make the Xbhd a master drive.

Ive never tried to lock out a xbhd in windows.

So basicly windows not being able to recognize my CD drive dosnt really matter as long as I can still boot from it? Cause I know you dont lock the harddrive in windows.
