Hi all and thanks in advance for any help i get.
Im pretty new to the moddng scene so please forgive my noobism, i am thinking of insatlling a new 100/120gb hdd on my xbox and just have a few questions. I have read the tutorial on hdd ugrading but am still a little confused, so here goes.
I have just downloaded evox build 3935.
Q1. * The EvoX XBE file , should in the disk root and called "default.xbe"
does this mean i rename the file called exoxdash.xbe to default.xbe?
Q2. * The "evox.ini" should be changed, does this mean the evox config settings?
Q3. * You should also add the complete /backup directory from the C drive on your Xbox. does this mean the c drive i ftp'ed to my pc?
Q4. * So , the complete CD should contain :
default.xbe (the evox dash)
evox.ini (the evox ini file)
/backup/bios.bin (from /c/backup on Xbox HD)
/backup/disk.bin (from /c/backup on Xbox HD)
/backup/eeprom.bin (from /c/backup on Xbox HD)
/backup/hddinfo.txt (from /c/backup on Xbox HD)
/backup/hddkey.bin (from /c/backup on Xbox HD)
Do i include whatever else was included in the exox package i downloaded from here? i.e skins ,bios, trainers
Q5. does it matter that i have already installed exox on my current xbox drive? Will the nessary files be in my c drive?
I think thats about it for now so if someone can answer these few questions i would be greatfull. No doubt i will be asking more questions soon when i get my hdd.

As I recall, after my Xbox was up and running full-modded, I just shut 'er down, put in the new HDD, and popped an autoinstaller into the DVD drive. This will format the HDD and install the files you need. It sounds like you're trying to make your own install disc. I wouldn't! The wheel's already been invented, now you just have to steer!

Yes, what you are doing is manually installing EvoX which is a good thing to learn if you can't get a hold of a good AI, but since you are a VIP you have access to the xbox-hq 1.3 Autoinstaller.
All you have to do is install your chip, flash the modchip, and then swap out the old HD for the new.
Boot up the xbox with the AI and follow the directions..
Format the HD, Prepare the HD, install dashboards (evox and MS), install applications, lock HD...reboot. Very easy. You can accomplish all you need in as little as twenty minutes!
