Heres the scoop - I am sure my son's xBox hard drive crashed. Checked this out via a couple ways and the hard drive is non-responsive.
1) Is there anyway of purchasing a new hard drive and getting the xBox running without sodering anything?
2) If I have to soder, would installing a Modchip help, could I purchase a new hard drive and Modchip and get this xbox back up and running?

Ok I had some time this morning to read some more. Looks like I need to buy a Modchip to get the xBox up and running.
1) Im am willing to spend $150, could someone recommend a chip, do I need the XLDC?
2) Would there be a reason to run a Modchip and a Softmod together, is it possible, does it add more functionality?
Would someone be willing to offer some direction?

1. You can get a chip for as cheap as $10.00 the duox2 I believe.
2. You dont need to run a softmod at the same time I have read post whrere other members tried that and had problems.

I would recommend the xecuter 3 ce mod chip it is the best as far as im concerned. If you need the chip installed here is a link to the modders map on it you will find people that do mods just find one close to you and pm them. http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/modules.php?name=HQ_Modders

I just purchased the Xecutor 3 CE Combo Kit. Should have it in a couple days.
I am curious can GameCube game s be emulated on the xBox?
