My friend has a XBOX v1.0 w/ x3 chip, x3 3294 bios ,x3cp ,XBMC 2.0
All has been working properly for several months then yesterday the LCD displayed "Xecuter3" "F*ck You.xbe" and from that point on the xbox will not go past the Rox My Box logo, cannot access x3 config live.
Can still boot modded content on dvd and still plays games but cannot ftp or access HDD when in this state.
Attempted reflashing x3... same problem
Reformatted hdd and reinstalled dash... problem still exists.
any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I've temporarily installed evox m8 bios on his 2nd bank as a temporary workaround so he can at least use his xbox untill I find a solution.

Apparently no one has seen this before, so with a little experimentation, I came up with a solution.
1: Boot to Backup bios (Press power & eject buttons at the same time.)
2: Flash x3 3294 to Bank 1234 (on,on,off,off,off) and Evox M8 to Bank 5678 (off,on,off,off,off).
3: Using Bank 5678 boot AID 3.10 and install unleashx dash and x3 eeprom erase on drive C:
4: Boot to unleashx dash and run c:\app\x3 erase\default.xbe, if all goes well the XBOX reboots.
5: Switch back to Bank 1234 and reboot, you should see x3 config live.
6: You will need to re-enter your preferences into X3 Config Live to ensure everything works properly, if not, when you go to check the contents of your hardrive, it will appear empty... Don't panic, check your settings in X3 Config Live before you do anything drastic like reformatting your hardrive!
I hope if anyone ever gets locked out of their XBOX w/ Xecuter 3 chip, they find this useful.

Fortunately I have been reading these forums for about a year and I have done several mods of my own so I have become very used to doing the research. This was a new problem that I had not seen in any of the forums.
It turns out that someone he knows gained access remotely to his xbox and changed the lcd message and the x3 password thus locking him out.
Unfortunately I discovered this after finally fixing it for him.

He miffed off someone he knows during Halo2 gameplay, and that person is very knowledgable in remote networking and modding. Can't prove it so I've corrected his security leaks in his network and on his XBOX, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Yeah, sorry about my wording on that... Slipped, I'll choose my words more carefully. But you are right, Halo players can be a bit touchy at times, especially when they are caught cheating in ways that cannot be done on an unmodded box.

I wanna know how this person modified his x3cl (is it written to a file on the E: drive or something?) changing the lcd and password
Anytime i have ftped into it, its only admin folder and then the rest of the HDD.
x3 erase was supposed to be proved worthless long ago with the holding a button combo down to reset the chip. I think you hold down a, b, x, y. Sort of like the different video standards (pal and ntsc) can be changed on boot with a combo. _________________ XBOX v1.6

I did try the ABXY method first but it didn't work, the only thing that would work was x3 erase. As for how this guy did this, I couldn't tell you. But I do know that he is a tech for Macintosh, and he is really good at what he does.
I suspect he may have accessed via ftp while the xbox was running xbmc 2.0 as his dash after gameplay last week. My friend had left his xbox on, he had also setup remote access to his network for the offender to help him in the past, leaving the opportunity. And on the day that this happened, he seriously miffed off the offender during Halo2 gameplay. That evening when he turned his xbox back on, It froze on the "Rox My Box" screen and the LCD was displaying "F*** You.xbe"... Coincidence?
