Good rig Very Happy Though I use AMD 64 FX as its so much better for gaming but it's just preference. Though one thing abit boards are crap for overclocking, the best LGA775 board I have seen is the P5GD2 Premium for £155 or P5AD2 Premium £177. These are pricey but overclock through the roof I am told. Nevertheless that will be one shit powerful system when you're finished. Good Luck.

P.S. When I built my system I used a SATA drive. The winXP setup refused to even see it was there. Just thought I'd mention it in case you used SATA it's a pain in the ass to set up.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'll check out the motherboards you mentioned. Funny you mention overclcoking, as my mate bought the same CPU as I wanna get, and he overclocked it to 3.8ghz Smile

Might have to get him to help me out with mine when I get it.

With SATA, I don't plan to get a SATA drive straight away (as most of my money will be gone after this new PC), but I'm definately thinking about replacing my 80gb Seagate IDE drive inside the PC (I have 1x80 inside and 1x120 in a caddy) with a 200gb SATA later on, so thanks for that tip. The best idea might be to set up XP using my 80 gig ide, then I'll just make a ghost of that and re-ghost on the SATA.

Can't wait to start buying parts for this "BEAST" very soon Smile

Sounds cool DJB...

I have been telling myself that I need a new PC...this one is a little over a year old...

It's just a HP Media Center PC (2.53GHz P4, 1GB RAM)

I really used the DVR functions, but as of late I havent been using since my cable provider (comcast) upgraded my HDTV box to one that contains a 250GB HD.

It is nice having the option though...in the master bedroom a TiVO, in the office the media center PC, and in the living room the Motorola...

My business parter grabbed up a dell with dual Xenon processors. It's wicked insane when it comes to speed. He can do so many things at one time...makes me sick.

I don't game on my PC, but I burn a lot of DVD's and it would be nice to have that extra processor!!

later all

As far as GFX, HDD, Burners etc. I'll using my exsisting:

1 x 80gb Seagate Barracuda
1 x 120gb Seagate Barracuda
ATI Radeon 7000
LiteOn 52x-32x-52x
Pioneer 106D 4x DVD+-R/RW

I was going to buy a ATI Radeon 9600, but I've been advised to get the 9800 instead. So I'm gonna wait a while for the price to drop a bit.

I also plan on getting a 200gb SATA HDD later on.
