Apologies if my questions upset anyone's intelligence here,
I basically had my xbox 'chipped' about a year ago. Never actually bothered to research how it was done & just paid someone to do it for me.
Worked beautifully for the year untill today. It stopped copying xbox games only, yet i could still use the XBMC(Xbox Media Center) to copy dvd's , avi's, jpeg's etc .....
So i very stupidly attempted to copy a game in the same way. i.e. Highlight it in the XBMC and try to simply copy all the files direct from the Game Disc into a new folder i simply tried to name, the same as the game i was all along trying to copy. Although the process seemed to have worked, when i did the usual reboot of the dashboard, it came up with the most basic Evolution X dashboard i have ever seen. With only 4 options,
"Settings", "Power Off " , "Reboot" , "MS Dashboard".
Everything about where to choose games, and emulators was completely missing,
I realise i have introduced corrupt game data into where all my other games have been saved, and this has caused the fault,
I just really need to know, what is the next step.
My head is wrecked, please help
Thanks Andy

well it seems you put the game in the wrong place and it has messed up the main dash. You should probably reformat your HDD then reinstall a new dashboard into it. I suggest using the Auto Installer Deluxe Disc to do that. It can be found here and on "other" places. You can also try to just reboot your xbox and see if you can reload another dash. Tell us where you put the game folder and all that you did. _________________ Moddingbandit

Dude so appreciate the help,
Ok, went into XBMC , then chose "View Files" section, selected all the game data from "Conflict Gloabl Storm" .
Then on the right hand side i chose the section of the F drive where the games are stored, path F:/Games/
, and jus selected new folder, called it "Global" then tried to copy everything exactly into this new folder.
When it finished and i held all the buttons to do the normal reboot, and then try and select my new game, the entire dashboard had vanished and it left me with the default one i told you about.
Just downloading Slayers EvoX Auto_Installer V2.7Final edition. Believe its the latest. Dye think this one would be sweet to try and install as a new dashboard ??
Q: How do i reformat the drive in the state the xbox is now in ??
Q: Can I simply burn my new Slayer program to disc, shud it be compiled into a single ISO file. And on what kind of disc is appropriate, is DVD+R ok ??
Q: Do you know what the most advanced dashboard is these days, and where to get it ??

Actually bro, if u could just let me know how to reformat the drive.
I've been trying to boot it up as a regular xbox, then select "Settings", the "System Info", then put in Y, Up (Left thumb stick), Down (Left Thumb), X, A
But nothing happens ???
Most of the sites i've searched on how to reformat an xbox HDD just state the above method ??
