First off, I'm relatively new to Xbox modding, but have the basics down and love AID.

I purchased my first Xbox at the first of the year, and it was already softmodded with a 120GB HD. NKpatcher was used and it points to E:\ROOT containing the Avalaunch dashboard that boots. The only files on C:\ are the exploit files (1MB out of 500MB are used).

What I want to do is basically reinstall all my apps and emulators (currently all on the E: drive) using AID 3.1. I'd like to install the basic dashboards and other small apps on the C: partition and have only Emulators, and savegame data on E:

Couldn't I just boot AID3.1 using the burned DVD, and
1) Reformat C:
2) Install the NKpatch softmod to the C: drive (single boot mode is fine)
3) Install my preferred hacked dashboard (Avalaunch)

At that point, avalaunch is bootable and I can install other apps to C: and emulators to E: as desired.

Is that right?

If you have a 120 GB drive, why are you installing anything but your dash to E? You should have a 110GB F drive, why not use that instead and keep the room on E for game saves, CD backups, etc?

Embarassed

I guess it's because I'm somewhat OCD. I like being able to split everything to seperate partitions, and only using 1MB of the 500MB of C: seemed like such a waste.

Granted, I know it's trivial to worry about 400-500MB with a 120GB drive, but I guess I'm just being picky. Besides, even now, with apps, emulators, game data/saves, etc., on E, I've still got over 2GB free.

I just like to tinker. Smile

Thanks for the help.
