i recently bought one....its supposed to have 80 gigs but it has some IBM_SERVICE partition.....apparently its a built in recovery system.....but it takes up 8 gigs or so.....

does anyone know if i can safely get rid of it......i dont really care if i can use the built in rescue & recovery......

You should be able to remove the partition in administrative tools, computer management, disk management. You might want to ask at pc-hq, there are alot of smart people over there...

it wont let me do it that way....maybe cause its in fat32 unlike main partition.....
