Hey guys. It seems that I have finally stripped the hole that attaches my x2.3b lite+. I'm looking for an xbox shell at the moment, but I'm also wondering if there is a was to repair the damage (chip doesn't work now). The entire hole isn't messed up so I am also going to try finding a longer screw, but just in case that doesn't work, any suggestions?

You could probably fill it with some type of resin and after it hardens then just tap it, and insert a new screw?

Not sure, but think they have stuff to repair plastic.

I have come up with several options

What you have suggested is one of them.

I am also going to try and find a screw that is a little larger and/or a little longer.

Or just drill through the bottom of the case and use a small nut, bolt and washer. This is my least favorite option, but will more than likely solve further problems because I wont be relying on plastic.

I'll keep you updated for future reference.

If the plastic is stripped, why not just heat the plastic around the hole up with a lighter and reshape it. I tried this on a Game Cube and it worked fine.

Well, it seems the fix was rather easy. I went to the nearest super-mega home improvement place and found a bag with bolts that were about the same thickness but a little longer. Works great. The only problem I have seen now is a little bump on the bottom of the case where the bolt is about to stick through. No biggie though. Who looks at the bottom?

But I think RM's idea and my idea were more imaginative! Anyone could say 'Get a bigger screw!' Wink

HA, yeah but now someone will put a patent on the larger screw and call it the, "Magic Stripped Screw Hole Sealer"...fixes any size stripped screw hole instantly.

I can hear the infomercial now...

You can own this amazing product for only three payments of $14.99, but wait. If you act right now, we'll make one payment for you. That's right, you can get the Magic Stripped Screw Hole Sealer for only two easy payments of $14.99, but that's not all! We'll double your order and send you TWO Magic Stripped Screw Hole Sealers and also include our handy penlight/screwdriver in one. Great for when you absolutely need to screw something in the dark!

Some assembly required, batteries not included, may cause rectal itching, operators are standing by!!

I came very close to getting into advertising! Very very close.

I wrote a Dunkin Donut commercial when I was very young. My mother encouraged me to send it in and I got a letter in the mail from their advertising department. They asked me to sign a release to use it. I got $25.00 of coupons for my idea...

Granted, this was in 1977...

From there I began writing all kinds of different things, short stories, commercials, screen plays... Then I discovered that chicks didn't dig writers...

So I started break dancing. Yeah, that paid the bills for like....two years. I even got to be an extra in a movie called 'Rappin Hood'. It was Mario Van Peebles first flick. Ice T was in it too. He was very cool. He kept telling me that he didn't know shit about acting and that he couldn't believe they wanted him in a movie. He was hysterical.

Then I started traveling doing stand up comedy....did that for about three years. Too much road. It started not being fun anymore. I got to do a guest set at the Improv in LA, that was pretty neat. I got to do 7 minutes of material and got paid $35.00

Compared to my movie debut and my Dunkin Donuts gig... I was going nowhere but up. I wrote some stuff for the tonight show, SNL, but never really got anything full time offered so I sorta faded away.

Maybe I should've looked harder at the infomercial scene... HA..

later all
