Hi,
I have installed Aladdin Live Plus modchip I recieved this friday. I have grounded D0 from motherboard to a screw on motherboard and have connected Motherboard's BT to BT on modchip. The problem I am getting is sometimes rather frequently as of now, XBOX fails to start. Blue light of modchip goes on and off (blinks in 2-3 sec interval) couple of times and than the DVD eject LED keeps on blinking between Red and Green.
I had spent last few days in trying to figure out, what are the specific circumstances when XBOX is able to boot properly and when it doesn't. But all in vain.
Sometimes it starts booting as soon as I open the Cover, sometimes as soon as I disconnect it from network, sometimes as soon as i remove the controller and sometimes even after i power off the wireless router. So all these circumstances seems to be just coincidences but actual reason seems to be something else.
Could it be, It will work properly after I connect D0 to modchip's D0 and L1 to modchip's L1.
Please help.

triple check all your soldier points.
Sounds like something isnt contacting properly..
Dont forget with aladdins you have to HOLD the power BUTTON for 2 seconds to get a HACKED BIOS BANK and just tap the power button for NORMAL M$ Bios (mod turned off)..
The blue light should always be ON with your aladdin as soon as you power your xbox up.
Kaz will be replying to some posts tonight too hopefully ill pm him now and get him to reply to this thread for you..
Thanks for quick response.
Loose solder points were my first guess. But i checked it number of times and also the randomness involved (without adjusting wires and pins) makes me guess its is not the loos solder.
I will check that again .
Also I have grounded D0, so option to switch between normal and modchip bios is not available. It should always boot with Evox M8 bios.
Blue light goes off for a second. That as far as I think is the key for the problem. Do you know some scenarios in which blue light comes up, but goess off for a second and than comes back again.

Hi,
I always connect D0 and BT points on the chip to the points on the Motherboard .......... the D0 selects your new installed BIOS and the BT enables the selection of which BIOS to start from via the power button on your XBOX. Sounds like the D0 on your grounding screw point isn't quite making a proper connection. I would also double check all your solder connections to confirm they are OK as well.
The LED on the chip should also always stay on to confirm that the chips BIOS has been enabled.
Hope this help in some way ........ let us know how you go.

I will try after connecting D0 to chip D0 today.
Will check all solder points also.
I haven't connected L1 and L2 points as they were optional. Is it Ok.
Because Aladdin Instalation image says BT is optional but that is mandatory.

Hi,
I have connected D0 to D0 of chip now. After that it is working almost always.
I am using term "almost" because it has happened once that it was not able to boot EVox Bios. Basically same problem as I was getting earlier. Wheneevr I start no video came for few seconds and than it defaulted to MS Bios(earlier ZD0 was grounded so it couldn't go back to MS).
Anyways as of now everything is working fine. But if you know of the problem I described above, please let me know. SO that if it recurrs in future I can rectify that.
Thanks for all the support I got from Xbox-hq.com
