You can link to your box in 2 ways. Direct connection (crossover cable) or through a router.
A direct connection will require that the default gateway address be set to the address on the other end. Example: PC IP--> 192.168.1.100, default gateway--> 192.168.1.101. XBOX IP-->192.168.1.101, default gateway--> 192.168.1.100. The subnet should be the same for the two.
A router connections is easy. Set 'static IP' on the XBOX to 'No.'
You will also need to make sure your firewall isn't blocking the connection and that you have the username and password of the connection correct.
The XBOX will need to be restarted in order to obtain an address.
If you still can't connect I am at a loss. I have used both methods without a problem. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

Edit your profile to include as much info about your setup (chip, box version, hd size, dash, bios, etc.). That will really help others to help you.
I have 3 slide switches that enable/disable, protect/unprotect, bank 1/2, on my X2.3b lite. You may or may not have the same chip. Knowing would be helpful. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD
