Yes, there certainly is. If you use xboxhdm, you could leave the C and E folders empty. Just put your eeprom.bin file in the EEPROM directory, create the ISO, burn it, and reboot. Then, you could us the linux locking functionality and lock the drive.
You still haven't answered what is in your second bank, though, as this may all be a moot point if you have FlashBIOS in there. When you switch to you second bank, what happens? _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Hi Greven. Really aint had chance to try yet n still aint at mo. ( work calls )
As far as can remem aint touched the other bank but what are you hopin happens? And how should i go about testin it?
Do i switch to unprotected and swith banks and boot with no disk in drive or should there be a disk in such as AID when booting?

No worries.
What would be ideal is that you switch to the other bank and you see blue FlashBIOS screen. At that point you can drop in AID3, or even better connect to the xbox through your web browser. If you can, then all that needs to be done is flick the switch back to the bad bank and flash away! Greven, FLashBIOS cannot load AID. No standard Linux support. BUT, FlashBIOS has some damned powerful locking/unlocking tools. And flashing via the web browser makes it oh so sweet. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Just checked box and as presumed i aint that fortunate. Exactly the same screen as the other bank.. Which is flubber screen followed by norm xbox screen with exo8 top left and linux underneath the xbox sign.
Just for future reference. What exactly did i do that was so wrong?
As far as i can see, Ive installed a diff bios. So what does this bios do? And why would there be any call to install a bios that has no function once installed to the majority of people.
Ok so just to conclude things. My only realistic option being a definate noob, is now to use xboxhdm to gain access to the xbox so that can lock the HDD and use as if never had chip installed.
Im not so much worried by this as i know that had i not installed PBL now i would have a some point in the future due to being inquisitive.
Only hope someone reads this b4 they take same road as me and end up with a pretty much useless chip. Also think some sort of warning in AID manual would be a good idea and hope that doesnt offend anyone, as I'm under no illusions that this is anything other thasn my own stupid fault.

About the cheapest I could find for ya. Really a damned good deal seeing as how I paid that much for a X2Lite (only) programmer. Still works with the 2.6CE, just needs a bit of tweaking. That one in the link, however, works with all the Xchips except the X3. So you're getting a damned powerful unit.
This will allow you to flash the banks with a clean BIOS (I ONLY reccomend the Xecuter 5035 bios for an X2.6ce) on bank one, and if you so wish, FlashBios 3.03 on bank two so you don't need to remove the chip anymore to flash it. But of course, keep the programmer around in case everything goes kaplunk. My programmer has saved my Arse many a time. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Yeah, I shat myself when I saw that, lol. I was just typing in various modchip setups in the address bar, seeing which ones hit and which ones missed. Those that hit, I browsed, and I stumbled onto that wonderful product. And just to prove I "am" actually learning along the way. Was talking to guy at work today who's had an xbox quite a while now. And tried to explain what I'd done & what it was i could do to fix it. He didnt have the faintest idea what i was talking about.
