Hi guys,
I had someone mod my xbox a year or two ago and now I'm getting the christmas lights error. Sometimes. Usually I can get it to start after letting it cool down or playing with the modchip switch on the front of the console while powering off and on.
I know its an xecuter 2 chip, with slayer's evox installed. If I look at the system info, the bios version is listed as Unknown. I'm guessing I need to re-flash the chip, but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing, as I don't want to erase my drive.
Thanks for your help.

dont think its your bios sounds more like a poor solder point or bad switch

Don't worry about bios unknown, it's a good bios,.. To fix this all you have to do is add the bios hash to evox.ini file.. You can use X2ool to generate the the md5 hash then copy and paste it in the evox.ini file.. At the time the program was called Xbtool, again it's been a while since i've done this but it got rid of the bios unknown for me.. _________________ Xbox V1.3

Maybe this might help you a little bit, along with what boobs just said xmassucks.. My first chip was the X2.2 lite plus solderless adapter, i remember those old solderless adapters would raise up off the LPC point, they had something called a paper trick to sort of keep it flat. This is my paper trick, what i did was something out of the ordinary but it worked, i cut a small piece of styrofoam and placed on top of the chip. Then when you put the dvd rom caddy back in the Xbox, the bottom of the dvd-rom drive would put press against the styrofoam putting extra weight on the chip to keep the adapter flat, i never had a frag again after i did this.. You can call it ghetto modding if you want to , whatever, if done right it works.. Again, this is only if you have the solderless 2.3b lite, cheers... _________________ Xbox V1.3
