Last month I posted a story pertaining to the new kid about to be on the block, called the "Phantom". I also posted the future specs and speculations of when this puppy would come to fruition.

Getting info on the console deemed a little tough as so many rumors were swirling about, combined with the fact that Infinium Labs took down the site prior to the beginning of E3.

As promised, their site is back up...bigger and badder of course. The site touches many topics from console advantages, customer minimum requirements, and true tech specs. Here are some of the things offered by Infinium:

---Non-proprietary development platform (Windows XP® Embedded ) - Does not require developers and publishers to incur any additional development costs
---Powerful digital rights management (DRM) solution that ensures seamless delivery of digital content to consumers while protecting against piracy
---Try, rent or buy games on demand
---Broad range of titles appealing to the entire family
---Personalized user experience: multiple user profiles and parental control features
---State of the art design and technology
---Multi-tiered subscription service that meets the needs of casual, moderate and hardcore game players

Only time will tell what marketplace Infinium Lab's Phantom will grasp. As a parent, the seeming total control over the content my child is subjected to is definitely a plus. But, that alone will not nor cannot win over the gaming community. The innovation however, is something that we can all appreciate, and determine if it's worth taking a shot at.
