It’s reviews and release season and everyone is getting excited for what we may be seeing over the next few months – despite approaching the holiday season mobile gaming is still very much remaining on the rise and ever popular. Despite growing regulation for certain genres such as online casinos we’re also seeing new services pop up with praise as this review of red lion casino shows that sites not on Gamstop are becoming increasingly popular at this time of year – but it’s not just mobile gaming capturing the attention of many recently, as Microsoft’s next flagship console has fallen back into the news.

More Rumours Swirl for The Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series X is just around the corner now with just a couple of months until the holiday release, but many fans have been turning to the Series S as there is still no new information regarding the lower priced alternative – but there have been some rumours that an announcement might be around the corner as it appears some material is going out with the Series X and S branding – tweets going out by some customers who have recently replaced their Xbox controllers now have the Series X and S being name-dropped on the Xbox Game Pass trial codes being given out, and may be an indicator that the little brother may have some more information coming sooner than expected – given no prices have been announced yet throwing an competitive curveball could give the early edge in the upcoming next-gen console wars and could see many looking to snatch up a Series S even in its underpowered form – we’ve seen how consoles such as the Switch can capture a huge market at the more entry level price and although neither are really comparable in what they offer, it shows there’s certainly a market for these consoles at the slightly lower price bracket.

Perhaps the biggest selling point of the next generation of consoles will be the price point, and that may be why Microsoft have held off on releasing any further information about the Series S – both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have yet to have their prices announced but many suspect they’ll fall around the $499 region, the Series S being a little more underpowered and budget friendly therefore may come in at around $300 or so, and while it won’t be a competitor to the bigger offerings, it will certainly offer an entry point for many players who may not have been able to afford the more powerful options.

There is another option too – it may be that Microsoft will reveal the Series S price before the X, laying down a competitive entry level console whilst waiting to price the Series X after Sony have announced the price point for the PS5 – but this may be a little more unlikely given both consoles will likely be tied on release. But as we’re now sitting what could just be ten weeks out from the release of the next generation consoles, it seems a little strange that there is currently no new news on any price factors at all.
