One of the most anticipated games for Xbox 360 shows up on torrent sites a month before it's release date
Microsoft Corp. has promised “vigorous action” after the latest Gears of War games leaked online more than a month before its release date.
Copies of Gear of War: Judgment, a prequel to the events of 2006′s Gears of War begins, began showing up on torrent sites overnight.
“We are aware of isolated cases in which Gears of War: Judgment content has been propped on the web and are working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation immediately,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer on Tuesday morning.
“Consumers should be aware that piracy is illegal and we take vigorous action against illegal activity related to our products and services.”
This is the second high-profile game in less than five months to leak online prior to launch.
In October, copies of Halo 4 were also spotted on torrent websites before launch
