XBOX-HQ.COM - RUMOR: EA To Be Bought By Nexon?

According to Bloomberg News there appears to be a possibility that Nexon, the free-to-play publisher known for MapleStory, may be in talks to acquire the U.S. publisher Electronic Arts. Nexon had previously announced plans for buying smartphone and mobile gaming developers.

This rumor has caused a significant jump in EA’s stocks today, which closed at around $16 a share, marking the largest increase since November 30, 2011. Meanwhile Nexon’s stock decreased by 2.3 percent at the close of trading yesterday.

So what will this mean in the long run? Well, if EA does get bought out by a bigger company, chances are it could make a return from being considered “The Worst Company in America” by The Consumerist. Then again, maybe not. As of right now this is all rumor and speculation and neither company has made any comments as to what is fact or fiction.
